As a freelance writer, editor, and publicist, Janet Haney works closely with companies and nonprofit organizations to create effective marketing collateral including, website copy, press releases, and bios, as well as other communication materials. She also successfully secures media coverage and creatively executes social media outreach for some of her small business clients. Her media placements include: 20/20, NPR, 7×7, Wine EnthusiastSan Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Examiner, San Jose Mercury News, San Mateo County Times, KGO radio, KPFA radio, local TV, and more.

Over the course of her career, Janet has written about finance, human interest, technology, and other topics. She was a financial reporter for the former CBS. MarketWatch.com; a media and editorial consultant for Applied Materials, a Fortune 500 company; and a writer for an interactive marketing agency. Janet has been published in the New York Daily News, Yahoo! Finance section, Citysearch.com, business-related websites, magazines, and newsletters. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Creighton University.

Additionally, Janet is an active volunteer for the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation and Larkin Street Youth Services in San Francisco. Janet is passionate about exploring different cultures through travel and has visited many parts of the world.
